Title | The synchronisation hierarchy of permutation groups |
Description | The aim of this project is to investigate the synchronisation hierarchy of primitive permutation groups. This hierarchy is defined by the three properties synchronising, separating, and spreading which are known to be increasingly restrictive. The challenge is to determine exactly which primitive groups have these properties. For particular primitive groups, the problem can often be rephrased in terms of graphs and their cliques and colorings or finite geometries and their substructures. |
